Points of Interest: Dunfermline

Nestled in the picturesque region of Fife, Scotland, it’s easy to see the attraction of Dunfermline for its 50,000 residents and many visitors. Scotland is rated often as one of the most beautiful areas in the entire world, and the rich history and gorgeous outdoors that surround the town make this claim easy to understand!

The Dunfermline area is believed to have been settled from as far back as the Neolithic period, with its regional significance beginning to grow since the Bronze Age or later. In slightly more modern terms, we know that the town was first properly recorded in name in the 11th century, following the marriage of the King of Scots Malcolm III and Saint Margaret.

Nowadays, Dunfermline serves local residents as a major service centre for Fife proper. Its importance for business has not diminished its natural and historical beauty, with flagship attractions such as the incredible Dunfermline Abbey and historic quarter standing apart from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Visitors to Dunfermline aren’t short on things to do; the lovely Pittencrieff Park goes hand in hand with the faster-paced excitement of the Knockhill Racing Circuit, and further attractions such as the Townhill Country Park are sure to please fans of the outdoors.

We’re extremely pleased to be working in Dunfermline! It’s a lovely place with genuine charm and character, and we are excited to meet the community and offer our service to the residents here.
